6th Aug 2003Some one mentioned \"Paradise\" in one of the comment. That is exactly right. Drove up narrow winding road of Duoro valley, we found Paradise. Beautiful architecture, Flower filled garden, peaceful, secluded but comfortable place, I like to go back.

27th Jul 2006We booked the 2 night stay via Inntravel in York, UK as part of our walking tour through Northern Portugal, and the advice was correct from the tour company: stay at least 2 nights. The Manor House at Chanceleiros 'Casa Visconde' is a wonderful place, and a true oasis after a long & hard days hiking through the high mountains. Kurt and Ursula Boecking made us feel so welcome. The gardens are a treat, with a jacuzzi in the lower vinyards. It is the best kept Squash Court I have come across, and the food - expertly cooked by a number of Portuguese women - was just too good. The best evening was when we watched the Germany World Cup Match on Wed. 14 June with Kurt and Ursula (Smartt) shouting at the TV screen - "we could have shot that goal!" I was a truly memorable stay and we can highly recommend this wonderful place.
